Based in Saskatoon, Katherine’s appointment underscores PRL’s ongoing investment in Western Canada and its strategic commitment to advancing risk management excellence across the power and nuclear sectors.

With over 15 years of experience in risk and insurance, Katherine has a proven track record of supporting clients in complex and asset-intensive industries, including the Power, Nuclear, Renewables and Mining sectors. Katherine began her career in risk management serving roles as the lead global insurance expert for one of the largest global providers of uranium fuel and later as a senior leader at a top global supplier of potash. Prior to joining PRL, Katherine held the position of Senior Vice President, Risk Management at a leading independent insurance brokerage where she managed the complex risk team’s nuclear and mining portfolios.

Katherine’s contributions to the industry have been widely recognized. She was named a Leading Risk Manager by Insurance Business Canada in 2018 and was honored with the Risk and Insurance Management Society’s (RIMS) Rising Star Award in 2020. Since 2020, she has served as President of the Saskatchewan RIMS Chapter, leading the chapter to back-to-back Chapter Awards in 2023 and 2024.

Katherine holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation holder, and a RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP).
