Position Overview

The Associate Broker, Environmental, Infrastructure, and Contracting Services (EIC) will support the development and marketing of client business to insurance carriers, obtaining quotes based on thorough evaluations and analyses of clients’ insurance needs within the EIC industries. This role involves assessing and negotiating quotes, developing recommendations and advising clients on optimal insurance solutions to mitigate risks and ensure comprehensive coverage.

As an Associate Broker, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of mid-sized clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day servicing activities for designated accounts, including coordinating timelines and deliverables, liaising with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders, and supporting superior client service and account management
  • Support the evaluation of client insurance requirements by gathering and analyzing information related to operations, risk exposures and coverage needs
  • Assist with marketing and placement activities, including preparing underwriting submissions, obtaining quotes and coordinating renewals and policy changes
  • Coordinate policy documentation and related activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Assist clients with coverage questions, certificates, invoicing, policy changes and other program administration activities
  • Maintain accurate client, policy and compliance documentation within internal systems to support reporting, audit and servicing requirements
  • Monitor account activity, respond to client service issues in a timely manner, and escalate complex matters to senior brokers or client executives as appropriate
  • Support the preparation of insurance documentation and client materials, including renewal reports, quote summaries, binders, policy reviews and summaries of insurance
  • Review contracts and indemnity provisions and escalate coverage or risk concerns as appropriate
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders to support ongoing service excellence
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions and regulatory developments within the Environmental, Infrastructure, and Contracting Services sector
  • Provide administrative and account servicing support to senior brokers and client executives to support client retention and growth initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in insurance brokerage;
  • Focus on Environmental, Infrastructure, and Contracting Services sector would be an asset
  • Licensed as Insurance Broker with RIBO
  • Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), Risk Management Certificate (CRM) and/or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation are assets
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products
  • Strong attention to details, analytical and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in insurance software and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation

Purves Redmond Limited is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $75,000–$95,000. This range reflects the expected hiring range for the position and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit. Additional compensation, where applicable, may include performance-based incentives, commissions, or bonuses.
