Position Overview

The Client Service Specialist will support the Group Benefits & Retirement Services Consultants in the day-to-day management of client benefit plans. They will serve as a primary point of contact for service-related inquiries, coordinating with insurance carriers, resolving complex plan administration issues, facilitating renewals and plan changes, and helping deliver an exceptional client experience while maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the national strategic plan for the Private Client Insurance Practice, aligned with overall corporate growth objectives.
  • Drive profitable portfolio growth through new client acquisition, cross-selling initiatives, retention strategies, and increased client penetration.
  • Manage the financial performance of the practice, including annual budgeting, P&L management, revenue forecasting, expense management, and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of High-Net-Worth opportunities by partnering with Commercial Producers, Client Executives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead client and prospect meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions to identify opportunities and demonstrate the value proposition of the Private Client offering.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase wallet share within existing commercial client relationships.
  • Act as a primary service contact for an assigned portfolio of group benefits clients.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding plan administration, eligibility, claims, billing, and coverage.
  • Liaise with insurance carriers and third-party vendors to resolve service issues and coordinate plan changes.
  • Support Consultants with renewals, implementation of plan changes, and ongoing client initiatives.
  • Prepare client reports, renewal documentation, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate employee enrolments, terminations, salary updates, and other plan administration activities.
  • Monitor outstanding client requests to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure all follow-up actions, client commitments, and service deliverables are completed accurately, promptly, and within established timelines.
  • Provide backup support to the Pensions team, co-ordinating and directing member or client inquiries to the Carrier support team for handling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the client experience and support Consultants in expanding existing relationships.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation within the CRM and benefits administration systems.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of group benefits products and carrier processes.
  • Strong client service and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/benefits administration systems.
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) or Life Licence (LLQP) are considered assets
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Compensation

Purves Redmond Limited is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $70,000–$90,000. This range reflects the expected hiring range for the position and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit. Additional compensation, where applicable, may include performance-based incentives, commissions, or bonuses.
