Position Overview
The National Practice Leader, Private Client Insurance is responsible for leading the strategic growth, profitability, and national expansion of the firm’s High Net Worth (HNW) Personal Insurance Practice. This leadership role will have overall accountability for the financial performance and strategic direction of the Private Client Insurance Practice, including revenue growth, profitability, team leadership, insurer relationships, and client engagement. Working closely with Commercial Producers and Client Executives, this role will identify opportunities, participate in client meetings, develop sales strategies, and build a sustainable pipeline of Private Client opportunities.
The successful candidate is a proven insurance leader with extensive High Net Worth Personal Insurance experience, strong business development capabilities, and the ability to build and scale a nationally recognized Private Client Insurance practice.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national strategic plan for the Private Client Insurance Practice, aligned with overall corporate growth objectives.
- Drive profitable portfolio growth through new client acquisition, cross-selling initiatives, retention strategies, and increased client penetration.
- Manage the financial performance of the practice, including annual budgeting, P&L management, revenue forecasting, expense management, and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of High-Net-Worth opportunities by partnering with Commercial Producers, Client Executives, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead client and prospect meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions to identify opportunities and demonstrate the value proposition of the Private Client offering.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase wallet share within existing commercial client relationships.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with High-Net-Worth insurance carriers, underwriting partners, and strategic market contacts.
- Build trusted relationships with key clients and centres of influence, including lawyers, accountants, wealth advisors, and family offices.
- Support complex account strategies, coverage consultations, client planning discussions including annual client reviews for key clients.
- Ensure compliance with brokerage policies, insurer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Identify emerging market trends, competitive opportunities, and innovation opportunities within the High-Net-Worth insurance segment.
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and direction to the Private Client Insurance team, including supporting the Team Lead in achieving operational and service objectives.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue growth, profitability, client retention, and business development activity.
- Establish performance expectations, monitor results, and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and client excellence.
- Champion process improvements, technology adoption, and operational efficiencies that support scalability and enhance the client experience.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to Executive Leadership on performance, opportunities, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Travel to regional offices, client meetings, and industry events as required to support national business development objectives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience within High-Net-Worth Personal Insurance.
- RIBO licensed (CIP, CAIB, CRM, or other relevant industry designation considered an asset)
- Experience with Applied EPIC BMS is considered an asset.
- Experience managing a Personal Insurance team within a brokerage or insurance carrier environment.
- Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management, and revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of cross-selling strategies between Commercial and Personal Insurance.
- Experience managing budgets, revenue targets, and P&L accountability.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
- Experience developing relationships with affluent clients and professional advisors.
- Strong insurer relationships and experience working with senior underwriting leadership.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong project and priority management capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and the ability to translate strategy into measurable results.
Compensation
Purves Redmond Limited is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $150,000–$170,000. This range reflects the expected hiring range for the position and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit. Additional compensation, where applicable, may include performance-based incentives, commissions, or bonuses.
